In our Barefoot Basics class, therapists use a lot of muscles that sometimes they've forgotten they have! Before taking class, make sure you work on your core strength as well as your legs. And stretch those adductors and hip flexors. You won't be sorry!

News directly from the AMTA AZ website:

October 25-31, 2009 is National Massage Therapy Awareness Week.

Every October members, schools, and chapters across the country celebrate AMTA's National Massage Therapy Awareness Week (NMTAW) by educating consumers on the importance of massage.

In addition to celebrating massage, NMTAW gives you the opportunity to promote what is important to you. Think of this week as a tool that you can customize and tailor to your own individual needs.  All AMTA members can participate and use this week to achieve their own specific goals.

Login to the 'member' area of the AMTA National website and click on 'NMTAW' in the left menubar. From there you can explore 'Ideas on Celebrating NMTAW' to take a look at some of the ways chapters and members have celebrated National Massage Therapy Awareness Week; get the 'NMTAW Planning, Coordination and Publicity Guide;' access logos, posters, and more.

Tomorrow I'm making the trek to Buffalo, NY to teach Bamboo-fusion classes at a massage center there. I also travel to teach Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy and Ashi-Thai.

If you have an interest in having continuing education classes come to your location, let me know! It saves your company from time lost by therapists having to travel as well as expenses.

It's day 2 of Barefoot Basics in our Ashiatsu class. All 8 students are doing well, although some are a bit fatigued. You use your body in a different way than most people do!
